Educating my children at home...

I have always loved the idea of being able to educate my children at home. Although that love was there, i seemed to push those feelings aside for many years~thinking that i could never do it! In early 2008 those feelings were back and much stronger than i'd ever felt! I knew i needed to bring my children home from their school. I was not homeschooled nor did i know anyone personally that homeschooled their children. With a huge leap of faith, i listened to that inspiration and I set out on a journey that i have not regreted! To read more click here

Christmas in July!

We wanted to do something a little different for July! Since we all love Christmas time- we felt it would be a neat thing if we celebrated it this month along with America's Birthday! Here are just a few fun things they've done! We're learning about the Savior a little more and really trying to focus on giving! Later, we'll post some of our experiences!!

Summer Updates!

It's been a pretty productive month! We've been memorizing the States (in order they became a state) and then the kids each chose a state they wanted to research and report on. It was neat to watch them present their ideas. We've spent much of our time outside because it's gorgeous! Spring and all the beauty that comes this time of year. Jocelyn and Jayton have been working on their cooking/baking. Jayton is passing things off for Cubs and learning that he can be excellent in the kitchen. Jocelyn has been trying new recipes. Jori would love to cook more, but it's been a bit of a struggle trying to schedule all 3 kids. They all love doing their own thing. I will continue to encourage self-efficiency. Jayton has been learning about guns and knives. He wants to be just like his dad and Right Now! It takes time!

We've all been reading/discussing in D & C. We're in section 60. We're also still reading the second book in the "Children of the Promise" series. We are currently brainstorming ideas for our summer schedule! We want to do many field trips!

Enjoy the picture slide show below!
